GENESIS 17
1And when Abram was ninety nine years old the LORD appeared to Abram, and said to him, I am God Almighty; walk in My ways and be blameless.
2And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you greatly.
3Then Abram fell on his face; and God spoke to him further, saying,
4As for Me, this is My covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations.
5Neither shall your name be called Abram any more, but your name shall be Abraham, for I will make you a father of many nations.
6I shall make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come forth from you.
7And I will establish My covenant between Me and you, and your offspring after you, as an everlasting covenant throughout the ages. I will be your God and the God of your offspring after you.
8And I will give to you, and to your offspring after you, the land where you are now a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.
9Then God said to Abraham, As for you, you must keep My covenant, you and your offspring after you throughout their generations.
10This is My covenant, which you shall keep, between Me and you and your offspring after you: Every male child among you must be circumcised.
11You must circumcise the flesh of your foreskins; that shall be the sign of the covenant between Me and you.
12Throughout your generations every male among you must be circumcised at the age of eight days. He who is born in your house, or bought with money from any stranger who is not of your offspring.
13He that is born in your house, and he that is bought with your money, must be circumcised. So shall My covenant be marked in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.
14Any uncircumcised male, who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin, shall be cut off from his people; he has broken My covenant.
15And God said to Abraham, As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her Sarai, for Sarah is her name.
16And I will bless her, and also give you a son by her. I will bless her, so she shall give rise to nations; kings of people shall come from her.
17Abraham fell on his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born to him that is a hundred years old? Or can Sarah bear a child at ninety?
18And Abraham said to God, O that Ishmael might live before You!
19And God said, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son indeed, and you shall call his name Isaac; and I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his offspring after him.
20As for Ishmael, I have heeded you. I will indeed bless him, and make him fruitful, and multiply him greatly. He shall beget twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation.
21But My covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to you at this set time next year.
22And when He had ended speaking with him, God went up from Abraham.
23Then Abraham took Ishmael his son, and all those born in his house, and all that were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham's house; and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin that same day, as God had told him.
24Now Abraham was ninety nine years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin,
25And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.
26Abraham and his son Ishmael were circumcised on the very same day.
27And all the men of his house, those born in the house, or bought with money from a stranger, were circumcised with him.
